Abstract

Perkembangan teknologi informasi telah mengubah pola akses informasi di perguruan tinggi, terutama melalui pemanfaatan e-journal sebagai sumber rujukan utama dalam kegiatan akademik. Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis efektivitas e-journal dalam mendukung proses penelitian mahasiswa dengan meninjau konsep, karakteristik, serta kontribusinya terhadap pengembangan karya ilmiah. Menggunakan metode kualitatif deskriptif dan analisis isi, penelitian ini menelaah berbagai literatur untuk memahami manfaat dan tantangan dalam penggunaan e-journal. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa e-journal memiliki keunggulan pada aspek kemutakhiran informasi, kredibilitas ilmiah, aksesibilitas tinggi, serta efisiensi pencarian data. E-journal terbukti menjadi sumber primer yang paling relevan dalam menunjang kebutuhan akademik mahasiswa karena menyediakan hasil penelitian baru yang dapat dipertanggungjawabkan. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa optimalisasi e-journal di perguruan tinggi sangat penting untuk meningkatkan kualitas penelitian, literasi informasi, serta kompetensi akademik mahasiswa di era digital.
