However, this routine and continuous process can cause complications in the body. Patients undergoing hemodialysis experience changes in functional status across physical, psychological, social, and environmental health domains. This study was carried out to determine the effect ESA (Exercise and Self-Affirmation) intervention on the functional status of patients with chronic kidney disease. Previous studies show that physical exercise combined with self-affirmation interventions can improve mood and cognitive function. Self-affirmation has been shown to reduce depression levels, improve sleep quality, enhance social participation, and ultimately improve the quality of life. This study used a quasi-experimental design with a pretest-posttest control group, involving thirty- nine patients in the control group and thirty-nine patients in the intervention group at the hemodialysis unit of PKU Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta. Functional status was assessed using the SF- 36 questionnaire and analyzed using paired t-tests for paired groups and independent t-tests for unpaired groups. The average SF-36 score before the ESA intervention was 44.53, and the average score after the intervention was 69.37. The t-test results showed a significance value of 0.000 (p<0.05). These results show a significant difference between the pretest and posttest results in the intervention group after the ESA intervention. In conclusion, the ESA intervention can improve the functional status of hemodialysis patients, so that their physical and mental function is better. The ESA intervention positively affects the functional status of patients with chronic kidney disease undergoing hemodialysis.
2024-07-26T00:00:00+00:00Copyright (c) 2024 Adiyati Mardiyah, Anggorowati, Andrew Johan , Ummi Maktum, Erna Julianti https://e-journal.sari-mutiara.ac.id/index.php/NERS/article/view/4994ANALYSIS OF FACTORS RELATED TO NURSES RESILIENCE IN THE INPATIENT ROOM ST. Results: there is a significant relationship between resilience and spirituality (p value = 0.005). There is a significant relationship between resilience and optimism (p value = 0.001). There is no significant relationship between resilience and self-efficacy (p value = 0.077). Regression test results show that there is no factor that is most related to resilience. Conclusion: There is a significant relationship between resilience with spirituality and optimism. However, there is no relationship between resilience and self-efficacy. Adolescents believe that self-appearance is very important for social acceptance, especially acceptance from peers. Furthermore, adolescents want to always look attractive to others, especially peers. This phenomenon can cause body image disorder and low self-esteem especially among female adolescents. It is believed that group counseling can improve the body image of female adolescent to be more positive. This research aims to determine the effect of counseling methods with a cognitive behavioral approach on improving body image in female adolescent. This study used a quasi-experimental design. The sample was identified by using power analysis, the number of sample in this study was 128 female adolescents which included two groups namely intervention group and control group, composed of 64 respondents in each group. The data was collected by using the Body Appreciation Scale (BAS) questonnaire to measure body image variable. The Cognitive Behavior Group Counseling approach was used to provide counseling to the intervention group for six sessions. Body image measurements were carried out three times, namely before counseling, a week after counseling, and two weeks after counseling. The data analysis was carried out using a two-mean difference test. The result showed that cognitive behavior group counseling was effective in improving the body image of female adolescent to be more positive (p value = 0,000 < 0,05). It is concluded that cognitive behavior group counseling is an effective intervention to help female adolescent in building a positive body image.
2024-08-31T00:00:00+00:00Copyright (c) 2024 Nirwan, Said Devi Elvin, Julianti Jauharihttps://e-journal.sari-mutiara.ac.id/index.php/NERS/article/view/5154CONSUMPTION PATTERNS AND NUTRITIONAL STATUS OF ADOLESCENTS AND PARENTS WITH DIABETES MELLITUS (DM)2024-08-14T07:29:58+00:00Jamni Teukutjamni1974@gmail.comAfdhal Afdhalafdhal2006@gmail.comErlangga Galih Zulva Nugrohoerlanggagzn@gmail.comErwandierwandi.usman@gmail.comRoma Sitiositioroma1@gmail.comRizki Wan Oktabinarizkiwan.oktabina@poltekkesaceh.ac.id
Teenagers more often consume foods that are high in fat and glucose than vegetable and fruit consumption. This can trigger the onset of diabetes mellitus, especially in adolescents who have Diabetes Mellitus (DM) parents. The purpose of this study was to determine the differences in consumption patterns and status between adolescents and parents of DM and not DM. This cross sectional study involved 42 adolescents as samples, consisting of 21 adolescents with DM parents and 21 adolescents who were not DM parents, randomly using simle rendom sampling technique, the differences between variables were analyzed using the Independent T-test and Mann Whitney test (α=0.05). The results showed that there were no differences in the consumption patterns of high Glycaemic Index (GI) foods (p = 0.229) and fruit and vegetables (p = 0.14) between adolescents with DM parents and non-DM parents, but adolescents with DM parents tended to consume more high GI foods than adolescents with non-DM parents. There were differences in nutritional status between adolescents with DM parents and non-DM parents (p = 0.036). The conclusion of this study is that most adolescents with DM parents are very overweight at the time of nutritional status. In adolescents, it is necessary to reduce the frequency of consumption of foods with high IG and to increase the consumption of fruit and vegetables and physical activity, especially in adolescents with DM parents.
2024-08-31T00:00:00+00:00Copyright (c) 2024 Jamni Teuku, Afdhal, Erlangga Galih Zulva Nugroho, Erwandi, Roma Sitio, Rizki Wan Oktabina
